Life in the UK test study plan: 2, 4 or 8 weeks
Updated 10 October 2026
Short answer. Spread the chapters over the weeks you have, keep the last week or two for mock tests and review, and study a little most days. The app does this for you from your test date.
These plans cover all 14 chapters. Daily time is your choice: 20 to 30 minutes on most days is a good start. The plans are our suggestion, not an official method.
If you have 8 weeks
| When | Cover | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Chapters 1 to 3 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 2 | Chapters 4 to 6 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 3 | Chapters 7 to 8 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 4 | Chapters 9 to 10 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 5 | Chapters 11 to 12 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 6 | Chapters 13 to 14 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 7 | Review and mock tests | Take a mock test, review every wrong answer, then revise the chapters behind them. |
| Week 8 | Review and mock tests | Take mock tests until you are above the pass mark several times in a row. Revise your weakest chapters. Rest the day before. |
The most relaxed plan. Use the extra time for flashcards and for retaking the quizzes you found hard.
If you have 4 weeks
| When | Cover | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Chapters 1 to 5 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 2 | Chapters 6 to 10 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 3 | Chapters 11 to 14 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 4 | Review and mock tests | Take mock tests until you are above the pass mark several times in a row. Revise your weakest chapters. Rest the day before. |
A balanced plan. Do your flashcards every day and take your first mock test at the start of week 4.
If you have 2 weeks
| When | Cover | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Chapters 1 to 7 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
| Week 2 | Chapters 8 to 14 | Read each chapter, then take its quiz. Do your flashcards on the days you do not read. |
A tight plan: expect 45 to 60 minutes on most days. Take at least one mock test in the last three days, and put your weakest chapters first.
If you have less than two weeks
Start with the chapters you know least, take a mock test early to find them, and keep going every day. Consider whether you can move your test date: the plan in the app shows how much time you need for your date.
